Boye Olusanya named Beta Glass chairman

Beta Glass Plc announced the appointment of Mr. Boye Olusanya as chairman of its board, a change that took effect on July 30, 2026, following the departure of Dr. Vitus Ezinwa.

Leadership change confirmed by filing

The company disclosed the transition in a filing with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on August 5, 2026. The document notes that Dr. Ezinwa had chaired the board since 2024 after succeeding the late Abimbola Ogunbanjo. Beta Glass thanked him for “dedicated service and strategic guidance,” saying his tenure “contributed significantly to the company’s growth and development.”

Board minutes recorded the approval of Olusanya’s appointment immediately after Ezinwa’s exit. The filing states the board “expresses full confidence” in the new chairman’s ability to steer the firm toward “new opportunities, strengthened governance, and sustainable growth.”

Olusanya’s background and expected impact

Before joining the board as a non‑executive director, Olusanya accumulated more than 25 years of executive experience across consumer goods, agriculture, telecommunications, technology, energy, infrastructure and financial services. He is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of FMN Holdings Limited, where he leads a transformation into an integrated food and agro‑industrial platform.

His earlier roles include senior positions at 9mobile, Dangote Industries and Helios Investment Partners. He also chaired Axxela Limited and serves as vice chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group. The board believes that this breadth of experience will help Beta Glass “drive the next phase of growth for the business.”

The company is also managing a major ownership restructuring. The Securities and Exchange Commission recently approved a mandatory takeover offer by Emerald HoldCo B.V., valuing the deal at roughly N6.94 billion. Emerald HoldCo aims to purchase up to 11.74 million ordinary shares at N590.94 per share, a move linked to its acquisition of a controlling stake in Beta Glass through the former Frigoglass Group’s Nigerian operations.

Olusanya’s role will likely involve overseeing ongoing projects while guiding the company through the pending takeover process. The board’s statement expressed confidence in his “leadership, vision, and expertise,” hinting that the firm expects a steady hand during this transitional phase.
